Location : Winnipeg, MB (Hybrid Work Arrangement)
Reporting to the VP, Controller North America, the Director, Reporting will lead and manage the overall financial reporting for the US, Canada and North American segment, including compliance with IFRS and the group’s accounting manual. In addition, this role also will oversee governance and risk & controls for both countries. This role will have significant cross-functional exposure and visibility and will collaborate closely with internal and external team :
As a member of the finance senior leadership team, this role leads the following :
Grubhub Bond and Warrants quarterly reporting
Overall month end close along with reporting to parent company and associated disclosures
Component audit and standalone audit requirements
Controls optimization and implementation
Team size : 12+
What's On Your Plate
Owns month end close process, ensuring compliance with parent company month end procedures and deadlines
Assess new initiatives and growth areas for technical accounting requirements and control framework implementation
Coach, mentor and develop skills of team members in multiple offices
Partner with groups across Finance to assess control gaps and aid in the design and implementation of incremental financial controls that are built for purpose
Oversight of annual audit requirements along with managing both controls and financial reporting elements of the audit
Ensure Grubhub standalone bond report compliance and reporting is done in accordance with requirements
Review and recommendations of technical accounting interpretations
Assist on special projects if and when they come up
Recipe for Success
10+ years experience, preferably within a financial reporting role, in public accounting or industry
Bachelor’s degree required
CPA designation required
Strong working knowledge of IFRS and / or US GAAP
Strong working knowledge of internal control requirements for public companies
Experience with capitalization of internally generated software a plus
An inquisitive mind and ability to translate accounting research into a clean format for leaders and other departments to understand
Ability to pivot between topics and priorities quickly, while meeting deadlines
