The Paver Operator performs a variety of tasks while working outside in variable conditions. The position requires the successful candidate to be detail orientated and physically fit with the ability to do labour intensive tasks. A minimum Class 5 license is required.

Job Overview and Responsibilities

• Operate efficiently various sizes, weights and types of mechanical asphalt pavers in urban and rural settings
• Perform daily visual inspections and make minor repairs to the equipment if required
• Have knowledge of Hot and Cold Mix Asphalt mixes and their properties
• Understand how grade / slope sensors work
• Load, unload and move construction materials around worksite as required
• Requires a flexible work schedule including overtime, weekend and out of town work as required during the construction season (May November)
• Comply with safe working procedures and practices
• Alternate with other operators and labourers as necessary
• Other duties as required
