Applefest Lodge offers both independent and assisted living and is looking for new members to join our care team. Nestled in picturesque Northumberland County in the town of Brighton and ensconced adjacent to a beautiful apple orchard, with only 67 suites our, care team can focus on creating an intimate and comfortable setting, providing compassionate care with exceptional services, and delivering individual attention.

We are currently seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, experienced Food Services Manager.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • 3-5 years of food service leadership experience in the retirement home sector or related industry
  • Competency in the Retirement Homes Act and other applicable legislation
  • Familiarity with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety A
  • Experience in the development or Food Service menus for Seniors
  • Leadership / Supervisory experience
  • Seasoned Professional in special event planning and execution

  • Essential Duties

  • Recruiting, training, and managing food service employees.
  • Scheduling employee work hours to ensure that all shifts are adequately covered.
  • Verify timesheet information for payroll purposes and maintain employee file
  • Ensuring that residents are served quality food in a timely manner.
  • Regularly inspecting all work areas to ensure compliance with food health and safety regulations.
  • Taking inventory of food supplies and other consumables, ordering necessary supplies as needed, and receiving deliveries.
  • Reviewing seasonal food plans and manage food expenses to a budget
  • Arranging cleaning and maintenance services including trash removal, pest control, deep cleaning, and equipment maintenance, as needed
  • Support leadership in the development and execution of special events in the community
  • Participate as required in Resident Council meetings with a focus on food services
  • Manage the use of equipment and supplies appropriately to complete duties effectively and economically to minimize wastage and preserve resources
