Financial Controller – Planned

As our Financial Controller, you will oversee all aspects of financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls. You will play a key role in financial planning, cash‑flow management, and supporting the executive team with financial insights to drive strategic decision‑making.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the company’s financial operations, including accounting, reporting, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions (Canada, US, Europe, and Latin America).
- Ensure compliance with ASPE (Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises) and manage the preparation and consolidation of financial statements.
- Develop and maintain financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets.
- Supervise tax compliance (VAT, sales tax, and corporate tax) and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors during the year‑end audit / review process.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, budgets, and cash‑flow forecasts.
- Monitor cash‑flow and implement best practices for working‑capital management.
- Provide financial insights to senior leadership, supporting data‑driven decision‑making.
- Lead and develop a high‑performing finance team, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Collaborate with multiple departments at Planned to enhance, optimise, and streamline operational processes.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in a finance department (Senior Accountant, Assistant Controller, Controller), preferably in a high‑growth tech company, marketplace, or SaaS environment.CPA designation (or equivalent) is required.Strong knowledge of ASPE and experience managing financial operations with multiple entities and multi‑currency consolidation.Experience with financial reporting, tax compliance, and internal controls.Proficiency in financial systems, QuickBooks, and Excel.Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and strategic thinking skills. Strong attention to detail.Ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and develop teams.Experience with fundraising, M&A, or investor relations is a plus.Benefits
