The Senior Director S&OP will be responsible for leading and optimizing the sales and operations planning (S&OP) process for a B2B distribution company. As a strategic leader, he / she will oversee a team of planners to ensure an effective balance between demand and supply, while maximizing customer satisfaction and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an S&OP strategy aligned with overall business objectives.
- Supervise and mentor a team of planners to ensure quality and consistency of supply and demand plans.
- Coordinate the monthly S&OP process, including demand forecast analysis, capacity planning, and variance management.
- Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, finance, and logistics teams to align priorities and forecasts.
- Develop and analyze performance reports to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Optimize inventory levels while minimizing costs related to overproduction or stock-outs.
- Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and evaluate the effectiveness of S&OP processes and team performance.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to demand fluctuations or supply constraints.
- Promote a culture of cross-functional collaboration and sharing of best practices within the organization.
Qualifications and skills required
University degree in operations management, logistics, business administration or related field.10+ years of relevant experience, including managing a planning team and a strategic role in S&OP.Expertise in demand planning, procurement, and S&OP processes.Proven experience in team management, with leadership and talent development skills.Proficiency in advanced planning tools (e.g., ERP, APS, BI) and S&OP methodologies.Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data and make strategic recommendations.Excellent communication and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders.Knowledge of the B2B distribution sector and its specificities, a major asset.
