OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the accounting intern is responsible for supporting a wide variety of tasks which will allow them to gain valuable work experience in a Canadian public company with operations in both Canada and the United States.

Requirements

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

  • Analyze information in support of various finance projects utilizing ERP technology
  • Prepare month end journal entries
  • Prepare quarterly financial statement notes
  • Support the preparation of tax filings using advanced professional tax preparation software
  • Roll forward reporting cycle documents
  • Prepare Statistics Canada reports
  • Participate and support with adhoc internal control projects
  • Other duties as required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to foster and manage effective working relationships with personnel company-wide
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter and under supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work under tight reporting deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • High level of integrity and accountability
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel and Word
  • Interest in public company accounting or pursuing a CPA designation

EDUCATION

  • Actively working towards a university degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • Must currently be enrolled in a post-secondary institution program, preferably in 3rd or 4th year

Benefits

COMPENSATION

  • $21 / hr
  • Commuting reimbursement

Employment Status : Temporary Full-Time

Term Dates : September 3, 2024, to April 30, 2025

Work Location : Downtown Vancouver
