About Shared Health :

Shared Health leads the planning and integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. We deliver province-wide health services and support centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba's health organizations.

The Process Improvement Office (PIO) drives streamlined processes and enhanced efficiencies in Manitoba's health systems, ensuring healthcare resource needs and priority initiatives are met. The PIO collaborates with the Ministry of Health, Service Delivery Organizations (SDOs), educational institutions, and clinical experts to enable sustainable, strategic outcomes.

The Health Care Retention and Recruitment Office (HCRRO) is a division within the PIO, dedicated to recruiting and retaining healthcare employees across Manitoba, including physicians, nurses, paramedics, health care aides, and allied health professionals.

Key Responsibilities :

As a Financial Analyst supporting the PIO and HCRRO, you will :

  • Lead enterprise-wide corporate services and finance functions, including forecasting, measurement, and reporting.
  • Manage and report on capital and operating budgets.
  • Conduct cost / benefit analysis and write detailed business cases to support decision-making.
  • Oversee financial planning and reporting for healthcare initiatives.
  • Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to support recruitment and retention efforts, including addressing barriers to recruitment and developing clear pathways to licensing for healthcare professionals.

Qualifications and Requirements :

Education :

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA) designation (mandatory).
  • Post-secondary degree in business administration, finance, or economics.
  • Certifications in Data Management, Robotic Process Automation, and Python Programming are an asset.
  • Experience :

  • 10+ years in a mid-to-senior management role leading corporate services and finance functions in a large publicly funded organization.
  • 5+ years managing and reporting on capital and operating budgets.
  • 5+ years conducting cost / benefit analysis and developing business cases.
  • 5+ years of experience overseeing financial planning / reporting in a healthcare environment.
