Fantastic senior-level tax opportunity for a CPA-designated professional with excellent Canadian and ideally international taxation and transfer pricing skills to join a very successful and well-established newly Vancouver-based company in one of BCs vital industry sectors.

Who - the Company :

Successful and well-established public company headquartered in the heart of downtown Vancouver. Global operations.

What - the Role :

The Tax Manager reports directly to the Director of Tax, and is responsible for overseeing various tax compliance requirements and related projects within the organization.

This role involves preparing corporate tax returns, information returns, and quarterly tax provisions. Additionally, the Tax Manager will conduct ad hoc research on tax matters and coordinate tax-related projects.

Furthermore, this position will involve assisting in performing select treasury functions.

  • Prepare quarterly and annual income tax provisions, including analysis of deferred taxes
  • Prepare Canadian and US corporate income tax returns and information returns including Forms T106, T1134, T1135, and CbCR
  • Correspond with the tax authorities including preparing responses to audit requests
  • Document intercompany transactions including loans and other payments
  • Update transfer pricing documentation
  • Calculate the surplus balances of client’s subsidiaries
  • Research relevant tax issues
  • Assist with treasury function

Who - the Candidate :

We are looking for a tax professional who is a team player and who enjoys taking on a variety of tasks depending on departmental needs.

  • Minimum 5 years of tax experience at an accounting firm plus additional industry experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA)
  • Completion of CICA In-depth Tax Program or Master’s in Taxation
  • Strong computer skills including detailed knowledge of Excel and TaxPrep
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail

Where :

Based in the company’s beautiful downtown Vancouver head office- accessible by car, bike, walking, bus, and SkyTrain. Our client offers a hybrid work model at the moment.

However, this may change to more in office based in the future. Thus we are ideally seeking individuals who have a preference for working from the office.

How Much :

Base salary commensurate with taxation experience, skills, and education, likely in the range of $130,000 to $140,000- please discuss your base salary expectations further with SWIM.

Our client will provide their new Tax Manager with a generous annual bonus, relevant PD & CPA support, generous health / dental / vision benefits (premiums are 100% employer paid), and 20 days of paid vacation.
