If you are looking for your next challenge as a learning and development professional, Bird Construction has a unique and exciting opportunity for a candidate that is passionate about employee and organizational results. As Learning Facilitator, you will play a crucial role in fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment. Your primary responsibility is to facilitate the learning process, promote collaboration, and ensure the acquisition of knowledge and skills. This position requires a combination of instructional expertise, interpersonal skills, and a passion for continuous learning.
This position can be located in Calgary, Edmonton, or Vancouver.
What You Will Be Working On
Partner
Partner with sector and district leaders to understand business strategy to create learning plans that are clearly aligned and support business objectives.
Partner with leaders to drive a learning culture by assessing learning needs at the district level, by engaging district stakeholders in learning solution delivery, by motivating attainment of relevant KPIs and by supporting learners to access and optimize their learning experiences.
Guide individuals to acquire relevant skills, education, experience and relationships that maximize their personal and professional potential.
Provide data and insights to drive decisions that maximizes learning investment.
Facilitation of Learning Sessions
Lead and facilitate interactive learning sessions, workshops, and learning programs. This will include training subject matter experts to facilitate learning programs as well.
Utilize a variety of instructional techniques to accommodate diverse learning styles and preferences.
Foster an inclusive and participatory learning environment that encourages active engagement.
Content Delivery
Effectively communicate course content and learning objectives.
Provide clear explanations, examples, and demonstrations to enhance understanding.
Adapt content delivery based on feedback and assessment.
Leverage technology tools and platforms to enhance the learning experience as well as reporting and tracking.
Assessment and Feedback
Implement formative and summative assessments to evaluate learner progress.
Provide constructive feedback to individuals and groups, highlighting areas for improvement and acknowledging achievements.
Monitor and adjust the learning approach based on assessment outcomes.
Collaboration and Communication
Develop strong relationships and rapport that further foster a learning culture and drive greater alignment across our organizational network.
Liaise with the Learning and Development COE to ensure the effectiveness of learning programs and assess anticipated learning needs.
Communicate clearly and professionally with participants, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
Engage support required for the effective delivery of programs.
Professional Development
Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with learning methodologies and industry trends.
Seek feedback from participants and colleagues to enhance personal facilitation skills.
What We Are Looking For
Minimum five (5) years of experience with a focus on talent development.
Proven experience as a facilitator, trainer, or teacher in a professional setting.
A team player who enjoys building collaborative partnerships to achieve results.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in using technology for instructional purposes.
Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design concepts.
Ability to adapt to diverse learning needs and create an inclusive learning environment.
Experience utilizing a Learning Management System (LMS) and SharePoint an asset.
Knowledge of the construction industry is an asset.
Open to travel to various locations across the country
