Job DescriptionOverviewThe Advisor provides multidisciplinary support within the Canadian Tax team. The tasks are diverse and include elements of consulting (research, analysis and advisory work), tax compliance (income tax returns and other related forms), and accounting (tax provisions, estimated tax calculations, etc.).
The Canadian Tax team is comprised of 5 professionals, who are based at the headquarters' office in Montreal, and is part of the global tax function, which includes more than 40 professionals.
Your roleConduct research and analyses to assess the tax implications of specific transactions or situations,
and develop appropriate recommendations.
Collaborate on various special projects (process improvements, automation initiatives, risk management, etc.), contributing to the development and optimization of tax processes.
Prepare the documentation required during tax authority audits and support the resolution of issues raised.
Participate in the preparation/review of corporate tax provision calculations and estimated tax payments.
Participate in the preparation/review of partnership information returns and corporate income tax returns.
About you- Professional accounting designation, or equivalent training.
- Bilingualism (French & English) *
- Master's degree in taxation or ICCA In-Depth Tax Course (completed or neat completion).
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in corporate tax compliance and accounting.
- Proficiency in French and English (spoken and written).
- Team spirit, versatility, sense of priorities, and initiative.
- Good knowledge of common softwares (MS Office Suite), Taxprep, and tax research tools.
* Member of the Canadian or Global Leadership Team: This position requires knowledge of a language other than French, namely English, as it involves collaboration with members of the Canadian or global leadership team located outside Québec.
