Hood Packaging is currently recruiting for a Extruder Operator for our Calgary Plastics location.

As a key member of the Production team, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that day-to-day operations run smoothly and efficiently which includes the operation of extrusion lines producing minimum waste and work safely at all times. The overall goal is to maximize production while minimizing waste.

The successful candidate possess a strong mechanical aptitude, be team oriented, capable of lifting 10-50 kgs. on a frequent basis and perform their work in a safe manner. This is a high-energy position and previous machine operator experience in a manufacturing environment is a definite asset. Must be able to work continental 12-hour shifts on a rotation. (2 weeks days, 2 weeks nights and every second weekend, 7am-7pm / 7pm-7am)

REQUIREMENTS :

• Successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that day-to-day operations run smoothly and efficiently, Machine set-ups, quality control
• Must have a strong sense of urgency
• Must possess a strong mechanical aptitude
• Be team oriented
• Have excellent communication skills and able to communicate with co-workers, shift supervisor(s), technical specialist and management
• Capable of lifting 10 to 50 lbs
• Able to read and understand work orders
• Demonstrate a commitment to Safety by following safety rules and guidelines
