Buying - Planning
- Vendor and Stakeholder Engagement : Foster and maintain strategic relationships with a diverse range of vendors and internal stakeholders, emphasizing collaboration, performance assessment, and negotiation.
- Strategic Market Analysis : Engage in comprehensive market research and trend analysis, contributing to the development of product strategies that reflect market demands and customer preferences.
- Budgeting and Forecasting : Participate in financial planning, including budgeting and forecasting, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market trends.
Buying – Execution
Product Strategy Implementation : Implement product strategies through careful selection and procurement processes, balancing creativity with commercial viability.Order and Inventory Management : Oversee the management of purchase orders and inventory for your vendors, ensuring alignment with budget constraints and strategic objectives.Performance Analysis and Adaptation : Continuously monitor and analyze market and sales performance, adapting buying strategies to optimize results.Communication of Buying Insights : Effectively communicate buying insights and product knowledge across the organization, tailoring the information for specific teams such as marketing, in-store retail associates, and the e-commerce team, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and aligned with the buying strategy.Buying – Operations
Promotional Coordination : Organize and manage vendor-related events and promotions, aligning them with overall business and marketing strategies.Merchandising Strategy Input : Provide key insights into both digital and physical merchandising strategies.Operational Oversight : Manage and monitor operational aspects including markdown strategies, inventory control, and general administrative responsibilities.Competencies, Technical Skills, and Knowledge :
3-5 years Buying and Budget Management experience in aspects such as :Assortment strategyPhysical and digital merchandising planning, and executionFinancial planning and budgeting (e.g., Budget, Open to Buy budget)Vendor ManagementAnalysis (e.g., trend forecasting, product research, brand matrix, consumer behaviours, competitive benchmarking)Inventory management (e.g., replenishment, stock level management)Brand and product launch managementStrong attention to detail, analytical and organizational skillsProject Management skills (preferred)Microsoft 365 Suite, in particular : Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (advanced)Workflow management tools such Asana (preferred)Shopify platform (working to proficient)Performance and dashboard reporting (preferred)
