Purpose
Reporting to the Manager, Distribution, the Distribution Hand is an important member of the Rocky Mountaineer Team primarily responsible for filling orders received from the train, loading those orders onto the train, receiving orders into our warehouse, and general materials handling.
This job is deemed Safety Sensitive. This position requires the incumbent to periodically access an active railway area where impaired performance could result a significant incident affecting the health and safety of team members, guests, team members, the public, property or the environment.
Compensation
- The base salary offered for this role is $24 per hour.

Interpret and pick the requisitions, including beverages, linen, food, retail merchandise and general supplies, coming from the train and accurately pack them for transfer to the rail cars.As needed, load and secure above detailed inventory onto pallets, for transport to other Rocky Mountaineer facilitiesOnce product is loaded on the rail cars, put these products away in their respective place, as directed by aides providedMaintain accurate records of all inventory moved from the warehouse to the train and to other departments within the Kamloops Operations CentreOperate equipment such as forklifts (if certified) and pallet jacks adhering to all safety protocolsPerform general maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure their proper functioning.Receive orders as needed or requestedMaintain a clean warehouse environment by transferring carboard recycling to the proper receptacle and take out refuse as neededParticipate in monthly stock take and inventory reconciliationComplete various facility and warehouse duties that may assist other team members.Safety
