A leading manufacturer / fabricator of low volume custom fabricated mechanical machine parts has a job open for Cost Estimator for its Manufacturing & Fabrication Shop in the Brampton- Mississauga, ON area. The job is responsible for creating the cost estimates, analyzing material and labour requirements, analyzing blueprints and customer requirements and assisting in preparing quotations, material requirements, material planning and purchasing, working alongside engineering and production. This is a low-volume customized manufacturing environment involving machining, bending, cutting, fabrication, welding and similar. Familiarity with all the processes is a MUST-have.

Cost Estimator (Manufacturing & Fabrication) will be responsible for creating the cost and pricing.

You will read mechanical drawings / blueprints / specifications received from the customers and work closely with the engineering and the production teams, evaluate materials and the labour costs, quantities required and ensure that the scope of the job, delivery schedule and other requirements arepletely met for customer satisfaction. You will assist Engineering, production, Purchasing and other internal partners to ensure the estimates align with manufacturing capabilities.

The cost Estimator (Manufacturing & Fabrication) will have 3–4 years’ experience in custom metal fabrication / precision machining and similar metal / sheet metal / aluminum / steel / stainless steel fabrication; experience with products involving CNC, welding, machining and painting helps, understanding material and labour hours, strong mathematical calculations, eye for detail, ability to read technical drawings are all a MUST-have. Engineering Technologist (EIT / CIT), Mechanical Engineering degree / diploma, estimation, pricing helps. Goodmunication skills in English is a MUST. Ability to work in a team environment in a fast-paced environment and work on site 5 days a week is a MUST.
