We’re hiring a Manager, Data Science who’s excited to lead a team transforming how data powers product, platform, and people at Homebase. This role is ideal for someone who wants to shape the future of applied AI at scale—leading everything from intelligent scheduling and hiring models to supporting internal sales and marketing decisions. You’ll manage a growing team of data scientists and partner with platform engineering to bring models from proof-of-concept to production.

Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of high-performing data scientists; mentor them to think like product and business owners
- Support end-to-end delivery of models powering product features (e.g., scheduling, hiring, payroll, pricing, personalization) and internal systems (e.g., sales / marketing targeting)
- Champion experimentation : design A / B and multivariate tests that help us move faster and make better decisions
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design to ensure data and AI are embedded into user experiences from day one
- Serve as a trusted thought partner to cross-functional leaders, product managers, and executive stakeholders
Foundation for Success
6+ years of experience in data science, applied machine learning, or AI product development2+ years in a people leadership role, mentoring and growing data scientistsStrong background in machine learning (optimization, traditional ML, or frontier models)Proven track record of shipping ML models into productionProficient in SQL and PythonStrong people leader with a focus on growth, empathy, and impactStrong ability to partner cross-functionally with business and product teamsCommitment to driving outcomes in a hybrid, AI-first environment where speed and ownership matterBrings curiosity, empathy, and a growth mindset to problem-solving and leadershipThe Homie Way
