Job descriptionCompletion of an accredited nursing program and current Registered Nurse (RN) license. BLS, ACLS, and any specialized cardiovascular or perioperative certifications. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cardiovascular OR or similar surgical setting preferred. Strong knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures, instruments, and protocols. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform effectively in a high-pressure environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The Role : As an RN in the Cardiovascular OR Unit, you will provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular surgical procedures. You will be responsible for preparing and assisting in cardiovascular surgeries, ensuring a safe and sterile environment, and supporting patient recovery.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare the operating room and equipment for cardiovascular procedures, ensuring all instruments are sterile and functioning properly.
- Assist the surgical team during cardiovascular surgeries, including positioning patients, providing necessary supplies, and managing sterile techniques.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition during surgery, providing immediate interventions as needed.
- Administer medications and fluids according to physician orders and protocols.
- Provide post-operative care, including monitoring recovery and managing potential complications.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing information about procedures, post-operative care, and discharge instructions.
