Process Engineering Lead – Gas Compression & Station Design
Our client in Airdrie is searching for an experienced Engineering Lead – Gas Compression & Station Design to join their team. The successful candidate will work on a variety of gas processing and gas compression projects for domestic and international clients. This role requires a strong background in engineering principles related to gas compression, technical knowledge of compression equipment, and familiarity with regulatory compliance and safety standards.
Your success will be defined by your ability to :
- Manage scope of the projects that can vary from FEED studies, modular packages and full turnkey EPFC projects.
- Acquire in-depth technical expertise in natural gas processing and compression
- Lead and mentor junior engineers, including supervision, checking and authentication of professional work products
- Become a critical decision maker while working with a multidisciplinary team of engineering and design leads
- Ability to be comfortable acting as the client rep for the company when working with the end user.
- Develop and build relationships with clients
- Gain practical experience by overseeing the fabrication and assembly of the projects
- Travel domestically and internationally for startup and commissioning support
- Receive mentorship from senior process engineers, supervisors, and managers to support your technical development and role as a lead process engineer
Your strengths include :
Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from an accredited universityProfessional Engineer registered and in good standing with Alberta Professional Engineers, and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) or eligible for membership.4+ years of experience in natural gas processing or specific experience in : gas dehydration, reciprocating compression, separation, condensate stabilization, plant utilities is required.Experience designing alternative processes in Glycol Dehydration, Sweetening, Mechanical Refrigeration, Oil Processing, LPG recovery, Centrifugal Compression is considered an asset.EPC and / or Fabricator experienceCommissioning and startup a experience also considered a assetModifying existing reciprocating compressor designsAbility to mentor and lead a small team junior engineersExcellent communications skills required to interact with client and internal team membersExperience working with HYSYS and other engineering software (BR&E ProMax, VMGSim Symmetry, Flarenet)Experience in sizing process equipment is an asset (separators, towers, heat exchangers, PSVs, flare systems, control valves, pumps, reciprocating, rotary screw, and centrifugal compressors)Experience with typical process deliverables (PFD, HMB, P&ID, Line List, Design Basis Memorandum, Cause & Effect Diagrams, Control Narratives, Datasheets)
