Turnaround Planner

Description :

Our client is a midstream oil and gas company looking for a Turnaround Planner, reporting to the Capital Maintenance Program Manager. This person will provide the Turnaround Manager support services in the areas of turnaround planning. Collaborate with operations and other stakeholders on the development and review of work packages, schedules, and resources. Develops and implements project controls and monitoring procedures to ensure the achievement of project scope and schedule objectives. Collaborate with operations control (finance) to support project tracking and cost.

Job Responsibilities :

• Full understanding of overall project planning fundamentals (critical path, dependencies, constraints, baselines,
• Prepares and maintains complex integrity inspection, repairs, projects, and construction schedules
• Responsible to ensure that project schedule aligns to company standard WBS
• Prioritizing, planning, developing, and scheduling multi-trade turnaround maintenance, integrity, and capital project activities.
• Reviews schedule basis
• Works with third parties to ensure plans are carried out; recommends corrective actions when the work schedule deviates
• Preparing detailed execution plans for required activities for each specific work area within the scope of a turnaround.
• Maintaining an up-to-date list of turnaround projects (Investment, maintenance, and integrity projects)
• Developing critical path actions for shutdown, turnaround, and restart processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather accurate cost data and provide detailed cost estimates for turnaround projects.

Additional Skills & Qualifications :

MUST HAVE :

10+ years of experience supporting turnaround / shutdown events

Has worked on minimum 3 Turnarounds as a planner

Background in piping / mechanical (millwright, boiler maker, pipefitter)

Proficient in Maximo and Primavera P6.

Strong communication

70 work packs (pipe fitting, vessels, exchangers, tanks, towers, integrity)

50,000+ man hours for large assets (towers / exchangers)

Proficiency in project management software, cost estimation tools, and scheduling software.

NICE TO HAVE :

Microsoft Project / Primavera P6.

Capable of handling several assignments, managing a diverse range of stakeholders / contractors, and prioritize demands and workload are key competencies.

Experience within piping or mechanical trades, as a Millwright

SOFT SKILLS :

Coachable

Ability to manage multiple jobs and changing priorities

Strong interpersonal, analytical and facilitation skills; ability to communicate technical information and articulate the plan to non-technical staff, technical staff, and management

Excellent leadership, project management, conflict resolution, communication, and interpersonal skills.
