Junior Full Stack Developer (Java / Angular)

Calling Computer Science Graduates! Apex Systems is a Global IT Services Firm and our Staffing practice is looking for a Junior Full Stack Developer to place at our client, a Big Five Bank. You will be joining a highly collaborative, fast paced and high performing team.

Client : Big Five Bank

Line of Business : Personal and Business Banking

Estimated Start Date : Dec 2024

Length of Contract : 6 months contract to hire is a must

Working Location : Hybrid, 1 Day Downtown Toronto in Office

Working Hours : 37.5 hours per week

Project : Customer Facing Application New Features

Overall Responsibilities :

Develop backend and front end solutions using Java, Spring Boot and Angular ensuring that code and configurations adhere to security, logging, error handling, and performance standards, as well as non-functional requirements.
Collaborate with subject matter experts across the business, including infrastructure, operations, applications, vendors, and leads, to seek input and plan / coordinate development, define requirements, and timelines.
Translate business requirements into detailed design specifications and code.
Stay up to date on latest industry technical and business trends.
Work in an Agile environment with a continuous improvement mindset and culture.

Desired Skills and Experience :

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.

Strong programming skills

Knowledge of the required programming languages, frameworks, and technologies, including Java, SpringBoot, MongoDB, JSON and XML data notations.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Experience in evaluating trade-offs and making constructive calls with other teams while balancing perfection and compromise.

An in-depth level of understanding with software development principles

Experience with AWS is a plus.

Some form of hands on experience is ideal (GIT HUB, Personal Projects)

Interview Process :

2 rounds, first round is very technical, multiple quick succession technical questions with lead and live coding to problem solve together, second round with interview panel
