Overall Responsibility:

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within the AMTB blanking facility. This role ensures all electrical systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. The Industrial Electrician will work closely with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Accountabilities:

• Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of electrical systems, including PLCs, motors, drives, sensors, and control panels.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify electrical issues and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Install, modify, and upgrade electrical systems and wiring according to production requirements.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime.
• Work with automation and control systems, including PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Ensure compliance with provincial, and national electrical codes, as well as AMTB policies.
• Collaborate with production, and engineering teams to improve machine reliability and efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns in a timely manner to minimize production disruptions.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Industrial Electrician
• Experience with automotive stamping or blanking presses is an asset.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive or steel processing industry.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, automation, PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or equivalent), VFDs, and robotics.
• Experience working with high-voltage and low-voltage systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems as they relate to electrical controls.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with safety protocols, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and OSHA regulations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) is an asset.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and overtime as required.

Compensation Package:

• Hourly Rate $45.00
• Variable Bonus potential
