Coulson Aviation operates a fleet of large aerial firefighting assets consisting of both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. With a fleet consisting of Boeing 737 FIRELINERS™, Hercules C130, Citation, King Air, CH-47D Chinooks and UH-60 Blackhawks, we provide rapid response capabilities using our aviation assets across the globe. We currently produce, maintain and operate the fleet throughout Canada, the USA, Chile and Australia.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

Due to continued growth and an expanding fleet, we are looking to add a Senior Composite Technician to the Port Alberni, BC team.

The Senior Composite Technician is a unique role responsible for the inspection, repair, and maintenance of composite materials used in the construction or repair of aircraft and special projects, such as vehicles. The Senior Composite Technician ensures that all repairs and modifications meet regulatory safety standards, manufacturer specifications and the highest quality standards.

Job Duties:

• Perform complex composite repairs and modifications on Coulson Aviation aircraft and vehicles using various techniques, as required.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical manuals to ensure accuracy and precision to achieve desired results.
• Operate a wide range of composite tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure repairs and modifications are scheduled to meet project specifications, targets and deadlines while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including reports, inspections, and material usage.
• Ensure compliance with all environmental guidelines and company procedures.
• Stay current with industry advancements in composite materials, technologies, and best practices.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years’ related experience in a senior or advanced role.
• Automotive finishing composites experience, including carbon fiber, are an asset.
• Comprehensive knowledge of composite repair techniques and materials.
• Familiarity with industry-standard tools and equipment, including vacuum bagging systems, autoclaves, and hand tools.
