Job description

Paul Cooper Family Law is a boutique, family law firm dedicated to practicing divorce, family, and child protection law exclusively. We are currently located at 3410 Yonge St, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Role Description

This is a full-time role for an Associate Family Lawyer with at least one full year experience working as a family lawyer in Ontario. The role will be a hybrid with majority of work hours being in office, but with flexibility to work from home.

The Associate Family Lawyer will be responsible for carriage of their own files representing all areas of family law, including but not limited to : decision-making responsibility and parenting time, child and spousal support, including income determination, child protection litigation, divorce, property and equalization, and common law remedies and trust claims such as constructive trusts, joint family ventures, etc.

You will be joining a rapidly growing, caring and passionate family law practice and will be involved in all aspects of our family law matters, including client contact, court appearances, research, file management and reviews. You will be supported by an experienced Family Law Clerk, and our trained and efficient legal office administrative team.

Qualifications

  • Passion and Integrity
  • At least one (1) year of Family law experience,
  • Strong Legal research and Case management skills
  • Strong drafting and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Courtroom experience and Trial preparation skills will be abundant
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Be licensed to practice law in Ontario

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of family law experience, but more importantly is eager to learn and develop their skills and practice. The associate will manage their own files in a supported environment and substantial mentoring available.

Salary :

85,000 to $125,000 per annum, depending on experience
