Responsibilities :
- Prepare monthly journal entries, bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Coordinate bi-weekly disbursement cheque runs.
- Complete monthly donation reconciliation and weekly donation bank transactions.
- Support biweekly disbursement cheque runs and liase with PHSA Accounts Payable.
- Monitor weekly corporate credit card balances, assist with credit limit adjustments and manage card issuance.
- Provide backup support for quarterly PST and GST filings.
- Respond to queries, fund balances and commitments outstanding to fund signatories and Foundation staff.
- Assist with financial reporting for Foundation raffles in compliance with Gaming Policy & Enforcement Branch regulations.
- Contribute to the preparation of monthly financial reporting package and fund balance updates.
- Support the development of audit working papers related to cash, grants and other financial areas.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications :
Minimum of 3 years of full cycle bookkeeping experience, with a registered charity or non-profit organization considered an asset.Post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.CPA Designation or working towards designation.Understanding of fund accounting and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) in the non-profit sector considered an asset.Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.Experience with PeopleSoft and / or Raiser’s Edge is an asset.Prior experience in grant management is an asset.Exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a positive attitude.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to meet tight deadlines and work independently or collaboratively.Demonstrated discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.Commitment to ethical behaviour and alignment with the mission and values of St. Paul’s Foundation.Diversity, equity and inclusion are essential to creating a great workplace.
