Accounts Payable Clerk

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Steinbach, Manitoba. This 4-6 weeks contract position requires an individual with strong organizational skills and a keen eye for accuracy to manage invoice processing and payment workflows. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining efficient operations within the accounts payable function.

Responsibilities :

• Process and verify invoices to ensure accuracy and proper authorization prior to payment.
• Perform three-way matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices for goods and services.
• Monitor accounts to ensure payments are made on time and resolve any discrepancies with vendors.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records, supporting monthly reconciliations.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external vendors to address payment inquiries and issues.
• Assist with coding invoices and ensuring proper allocation of expenses.
• Conduct check runs and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks to manage accounts payable tasks.
• Perform data entry to record financial transactions and maintain organized records.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a related field.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong skills in invoice processing, coding, and account reconciliation.
• Ability to perform three-way matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices.
• Experience with conducting check runs and ensuring timely payments.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication abilities for vendor and team collaboration.
• Familiarity with data entry and maintaining accurate accounting records.
