The Infection Prevention and Control Nurse is a critical role within our communities as it impacts the lives of residents through the strong leadership and motivation of Sienna team members.

As an Infection Prevention and Control Nurse your typical day will impact the following ways :

• Participating in the planning, development, organization, implementation and evaluation of Sienna infection prevention and control program.
• Responsible for providing infection prevention and control guidance for both Ontario and BC Region.
• When required supports Ontario Region clinically in a similar capacity as Regional Wellness Partner.
• Proactive prevention of dangerous infectious agents such as viruses and bacteria, outbreaks and epidemics.
• Implementing prevention strategies including education / consultation for front line team members.
• Performing infection prevention and control surveillance, collection and implementation of best practices and data analysis.
• Identifying trends / patterns and managing investigations of infections.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
