Location : Various locations across British Columbia

As a CodeEnforcement Officer, you will be responsible for enforcing local codes andregulations related to property maintenance, land use, and zoning.

Your rolewill be crucial in maintaining community standards and ensuring compliance withmunicipal codes and ordinances.

KeyResponsibilities :

  • Inspect properties and sites to ensure compliance with local building codes, zoning regulations, and property maintenance standards.
  • Investigate complaints and reports of code violations, documenting findings and taking appropriate enforcement actions.
  • Issue citations and notices of violation to property owners and tenants, outlining required corrective measures and deadlines.
  • Conduct follow-up inspections to ensure compliance with correction orders and resolve outstanding issues.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation related to inspections, violations, and enforcement actions.
  • Educate the public and property owners about code requirements, enforcement procedures, and the appeals process.
  • Collaborate with other municipal departments, agencies, and community organizations to address and resolve code enforcement issues.
  • Stay updated on changes to codes, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure accurate and effective enforcement.
