Maintenance Supervisor - Day Shift Continental - Job Description
JOB PURPOSE :
Reporting to Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the overall maintenance of the facility and directing, supervising and coordinating activities among the Maintenance team.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS / ROLES / RESPONSIBILITIES :
Responsible to manage and direct all Maintenance employees in day-to-day activities in accordance with the principles of CMP's core valuesResponsible for conducting and issuing performance reviews; identifies training needs within the department; provides informal feedback; provides ongoingcommunication through daily meetingsEnsures all legislative training requirements are maintainedResponsible for monitoring attendance and reviewing and authorizing weekly payrollAssists and supports employees with any issues or concernsResponsible for issuing discipline as requiredAssign and distribute weekly / daily preventative maintenance work ordersEvaluate existing and potential suppliersActively participate in plant audits (Safety & HACCP) to ensure maintenance activities are compliantAchieves financial objectives by monitoring results, analysing results and initiating corrective actionsPromotes continuous improvement and identifies cost reduction / savings opportunities.Maintains safety standards of equipment and work areaPlans and directs the efficient utilization of all equipment and manpowerFollows and complies with all Operational Procedures and policiesEnsures compliance with all Health & Safety policies within the department; conducts accident investigations; identifies and reports hazards in the workplace; actively works to prevent accidents, injuries with the workplaceEnsures compliance with all GMP's, HACCP and CFIA proceduresPersonal Development
Attend company required trainingRemain current with technical knowledge in areas of responsibilityAttend regular 1 : 1 coaching / update sessionsQUALIFICATIONS :
Ontario Certificate of Qualification in the required field (Millwright or Electrician)Minimum 3-5 years related technical manufacturing experience, preferably within the meat processing industryMinimum 3-5 years related Supervisory experienceAbility to be flexible in hours of work in order to meet internal / external customer requirements including overtimeAbility to uphold and maintain confidentialityDemonstrated proficiency in Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook)Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both written and verbally, to all levels of the organizationPersonal value set that supports Conestoga's Company valuesStrong interpersonal skills and team orientationAbility to manage multiple priorities and responsibilities, within identified time constraints, to achieve resultsWORKING CONDITIONS
