Job Description

What is the opportunity?

Join a growing and dynamic team of data protection security professionals working to help safeguard RBC and client data. The opportunity is for a Data Protection Systems Specialist will provide oversight, monitoring and enhancement to existing data loss protection services and processes. The incumbent will be responsible to help support the DLP infrastructure and enhance our detection and response capabilities.

What will you do?

  • Operate the DLP and CASB solutions within our environment.
  • Provide support to policy owners with implementation and policy lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with vendors and teams across the environment to investigate and troubleshoot issues.
  • Maintain documentation of the environment and the configuration of controls.
  • Collaborate with the incident response team to develop new policies and detection methods to address emerging threats.
  • Enhance and automate processes, collaborate with the user behaviour analytics team on improving machine learning capabilities and methods.
  • Regularly perform testing to validate controls effectiveness and identify areas of improvement.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have :

  • A good understanding of cyber security and data protection concepts
  • Knowledge of networking and cloud technologies including.
  • Experience with LDAP, AZURE and M365, Linux.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • A willingness to make a difference and help protect business areas and data.

    • Nice to have :

  • Industry related certification - eg. Security+ / CASP+ / CISSP / CISM
  • Knowledge of Python & Regex.
  • Knowledge of financial services business line(s) and associated applications and processes
  • Information Technology standards, methodologies, and audit requirements
