This work team will be responsible for delivering snow and ice control services during the Roads Department Seasonal Work Term as outlined in the Collective Agreement. This will include operating a variety of equipment including but not limited to tandem trucks, snowplows, sidewalk plows, and dump trucks etc., to ensure the safety and maintenance of municipal roadways and sidewalks during the winter season.
In addition to delivering snow and ice control, the Sub Foreman role will administer the day-to-day operations of the night shift crew. While working with the teams, the Sub Foreman position will be responsible for the afterhours customer service line, have the ability to troubleshoot and triage issues, call in staff, perform road and or contractor quality inspection, and / or escalate to the appropriate Supervisor as required. As an in-field leader the sub-foreman may be required to operate equipment as part of the regular snow clearing operation in response to staff shortages or operational need.
