About the role:
Metlifecare is on a journey to become a truly data-driven organisation, and we're looking for a Lead Data Engineer to help us continue the journey. Reporting to the Head of Digital, this exciting role will see you leading the design and delivery of data and analytics solutions to continue to drive business value across our organisation. You will provide technical leadership and mentoring to the analytics engineering team while ensuring high-quality, scalable analytics solutions.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Technical Leadership & Strategy
- Drive data strategy from descriptive → predictive analytics.
- Oversee master data management and data quality.
- Collaborate on data pipeline architecture and analytics maturity.
Solution Design & Delivery
- Lead analytics solutions using Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, Power BI.
- Apply best practices for data architecture & modelling.
- Ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Oversee QA and proactive maintenance.
Business Value & Innovation
- Identify analytics opportunities for business value.
- Lead proof-of-concepts and continuous improvement.
About you:
With a relevant degree and at least 8 years of experience in data and analytics positions, (3 years in a leadership position), you will have solid experience and expertise in the following:
- Business intelligence tools (Power BI), SQL, data modelling
- Analytics engineering best practices, and version control with CI/CD is essential
- Experience in the healthcare or retirement sector is preferred.
