The Construction Engineering Technology program is looking for adynamic, energetic individual with strong communication skills who is committedto student success, satisfaction, motivation, and achievement and inparticipating in the team concept of program operation.

KeyResponsibilities :
Preparing and presenting classes in classroomand lab settings
Organizing and supervising practical studentassignments
Conducting student evaluation and maintainingprogress records
Seeking feedback from students on instruction
Participating in course reviews, programreviews and curriculum development
Maintaining contact with relevant industryand professional associations
Participating in activities such as NAIT’sOpen House and NAIT related activities and committees
Participating in program events such asBridge Building, Industry Night, Student Club, etc.
Skills& Abilities :
Project Manager with 5+ years of experiencein construction project management and / or estimating with a general contractingfirm or similar (commercial / institutional / industrial), or
Strong background in the fundamentals of theConstruction Engineering Technology program
Basic computer literacy is required, as well asexcellent written and oral communication skills
Experience in structural and / or geotechnicalengineering or soil mechanics would be an asset
Experiencein managing CCDC, municipality / governmental, or subcontractor contracts wouldbe an asset
Experience in estimating would be an asset
Experience in the emergingconstruction trends, technologies, and software related to thedesign / construction of commercial / institutional / industrial projects would be anasset
Experience with building envelopes, sustainablebuilding practices,and / or mechanical and electrical systems would be an asset
Qualifications :
Graduate or Undergraduate degree inArchitecture or Engineering (Construction / Civil or a related area), or
Diploma in Construction Engineeringor Architectural Technology from a recognized Technical Institute is required
Eligibility for registration withAPEGA, ASET or AAA is an asset
Applicants witheducation credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentialsevaluated by World Education Services or the International QualificationsAssessment Service (IQAS).
Remuneration : Willcommensurate with education and experience, plus a comprehensive benefitspackage.
Instructor salary grid $65,218.00 - $113,452.00annually. However, starting salary for new hires averages between $78,998.00 - $85,889.00annually based on education and experience with room for negotiations. (Classification– Instructor).
Thisposition is covered by the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) CollectiveAgreement
