POSITION TITLE : Business Intelligence Analyst

REPORTS TO : Business Intelligence Manager

About the Role :

The Business Intelligence Analyst (BIA) is critical in Charter's focus on simplifying the business of IT. The BIA is a key member of the Company's Customer Success (CX) Team but is not limited to working only on CX related initiatives and will participate in a wide variety of corporate initiatives focused on enabling data driven decision-making and planning. The BIA role requires someone who can maintain a positive relationship with internal and external clients or stakeholders, meet Customer and Manufacturer objectives and deadlines while driving data and operational best practices.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities :

  • Enable the extended Charter team to have new or deeper conversations with customers about their planning & goals, budgeting, strategy & execution, expansion & growth, as well as providing input for cost-benefit analysis on solution options.
  • Drive & contribute to internal processes, documentation, and tooling - with a heavy focus on data analysis, insight generation, and application.
  • Collaborate with Charter manufacturers, distributors, and internal sales & admin teams to facilitate improved ease of transaction and deeper relationships, as well as administering data points internally & externally for improved operational efficiencies.
  • Identify trends and business opportunities by participating in / researching industry-related events and publications, social networking, and other sources.
  • Develop company-level dashboards and reporting to enable more data driven decision making and business planning.
  • Partner with Charter's senior leadership and business unit directors / managers etc. in creating, tracking and reporting Key Performance indicators (KPIs) for each company business unit.
  • Participate in the development of, and execution of, go-to-market activities and resources.
  • Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output.
  • Build and enforce data standards and structures.
  • Report creation using Power BI (Primary) and excel / other tools.
  • Create dashboards that invite data exploration and conform to data visualization best practices.
  • Create data models for application development and reporting. Flexible enough to accommodate and anticipate future use cases and growth. Creating and maintaining proper database structures, relationships, and documentation.
  • Reporting and visualization creation.
  • Work as an advocate for data driven decision making across assigned business units / teams.
  • Partner / support Charter staff that do not directly work with the role to understand how reporting / data can help them make better decisions, more quickly.
  • Review performance data to monitor and measure departmental productivity, goal achievement, and overall effectiveness.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Institute of Technology Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Management Information Systems, Business, or a STEM field.
  • Experience in a technical field such as statistics, computer programming, financial modeling, etc.
  • Adept in creating dashboards that invite data exploration and conform to data visualization best practices.
  • Experience with T-SQL or SQL like queries and Python.
  • Strong business knowledge, showing experience in identifying and supporting business outcomes.
  • Analytical approach, informing decisions and recommendations based on data and numerical trends.
  • Ability to think strategically, analyze and interpret market and consumer information.
  • Knowledge and experience working with databases, database structure and application integration / development with databases.
  • Experience cleansing data for reporting and end user consumption.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience working in business intelligence, data analytics or similar roles.
  • Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Excel.
  • Work Conditions

  • Compensation : $55,000-80,000
  • Hybrid work environment
  • Occasional overtime as required
  • Minimal travel – less than 10%
