About the role

We’re looking for a Total Loss Claims Representative to join our growing team.

We're excited to offer this opportunity to current Customer Service Representatives, Claim Representative 1, and Claim Representative 2 team members and external applicants.

What you'll do here :

  • Analyze and interpret insurance policy wordings and valuation reports to determine coverage and evaluate and negotiate total loss settlements
  • Communicate in a timely and respectful manner with customers, lawyers and brokers to settle claims
  • Ensure all cases are clearly documented and forms are analyzed and processed in a timely fashion
  • Identify process improvement needs and recommend changes to policies or procedures to improve quality service and competitiveness

What you bring to the table :

  • 1+ years of customer service experience in a claims department
  • Auto claims handling is an asset.
  • A college diploma or a university degree is an asset
  • Working toward the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is an asset
  • Have a strong ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate strong negotiation and decision-making skills
  • A critical thinker when it comes to approaching complex problems in time-sensitive situations and with minimal supervision
  • Are a skilled communicator, which allows you to foster favorable business relationships
  • Have a keen ability to listen to others with the goal of gathering information, allowing you to efficiently evaluate a situation
  • Go above and beyond for your customers and colleagues because you genuinely want to make a difference

    • Salary of the successful candidate will typically be positioned between the following range, taking into consideration a number of factors including prior experience, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, location and internal equity :
