Your daily tasks will include responding to customers or shipper's questions or, in some cases, complaints. Responsibilities include : Prepare bills of lading; check items to be shipped against orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correctMaintain the department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping recordsPlan loads in expedition software per shipping date, level load, forecast and report necessary capacity week to weekCoordinate with production planning to ensure material is produced as requiredConfer with project managers to coordinate production and shipping activities, and to resolve complaints or eliminate delaysDispatch external carriers, request permits and escorts as requiredContact customers in reference to shipping and / or delivery inquiriesCoordinate with internal purchasing department for incoming materials to be receivedMaintain trailer inventory and logsCommunicate and facilitate with customers and various internal departments for the purposes of scheduling and shipping as per project requirementsFollow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, control standardsProvide back-up and vacation coverage to other department personnelMaintain work area and equipment in a clean and organized conditionPerform miscellaneous job-related duties as assignedCompany DescriptionCanam Group specializes in designing and fabricating metal components for the North American construction industry.
