Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Ottawa, Ontario. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone with a strong attention to detail and a background in managing high-volume invoice processing and vendor relations. Familiarity with the construction industry and advanced accounting software systems will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities :

• Reconcile vendor invoices against statements to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Communicate with vendors to request missing invoices and statements in a timely manner.
• Forward necessary documents to the accounts payable platform for processing.
• Manage high-volume invoice processing efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
• Perform account coding and ensure proper categorization of expenses.
• Utilize accounting and ERP systems to ensure seamless payment processing.
• Process payments, including checks, and monitor payment schedules.
• Collaborate with internal teams to address any accounts payable issues or inquiries.
• Maintain organized records of transactions and documents for auditing purposes.
• Stay informed of best practices and compliance regulations in accounts payable processes.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
• Proficiency in accounting software, including ERP systems and Concur.
• Strong understanding of payment processing and invoice reconciliation.
• Experience with vendor communication and relationship management.
• Knowledge of account coding and financial categorization.
• Ability to work in a high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy.
• Familiarity with the construction industry is an asset.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
