Business Analyst III – Clinical / Surgical Systems
Location : Fredericton, NB (Remote)
Contract Duration : Approx. 500 days (7.5 hours / day)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst III (Clinical / Surgical) to support healthcare information system initiatives within the Department of Health. The successful candidate will work closely with clinical stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document surgical and perioperative business requirements in support of enterprise‑scale Electronic Health Record (EHR) / Clinical Information System (CIS) implementations. This role requires strong experience in acute care surgical workflows, clinical informatics, and hands‑on participation in healthcare IT transformation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead requirements gathering and business analysis activities for surgical and perioperative workflows
- Facilitate workshops and working sessions with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perioperative nurses, schedulers, and clinical stakeholders
Perform use case analysis, business process modeling, and detailed design activities
Develop and maintain high‑quality business analysis artifacts (requirements documents, workflows, user stories, use cases)Support EHR / CIS implementation initiatives related to surgical servicesCollaborate with clinical, technical, and project teams to ensure alignment between business needs and system capabilitiesWork across multiple project streams while maintaining quality and delivery timelinesAct as a liaison between healthcare operations and technical implementation teamsMandatory Qualifications
University degree in Healthcare, Business Administration, Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience5+ years experience as a Clinical Business Analyst or Clinical Informatics Analyst focused on surgical‑related requirements5+ years experience working within acute care EHR / CIS environments supporting surgical operations3+ years experience supporting health information system implementation projects related to surgeryAvailability to start on or around the date specified in the SOWVendor submissions limited to a maximum of two (2) candidatesDesirable Skills & Experience
6+ years experience as a Clinical Business Analyst specializing in surgical workflows within acute care EHR / CIS environments, including :
Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE)Surgical order setsPerioperative documentationAnesthesia recordsAncillary services (Pharmacy, Medical Imaging, Laboratory)Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and French (preferred)3+ years experience facilitating clinical workshops and stakeholder sessions5+ years experience demonstrating strong interpersonal skills, self‑direction, and stakeholder engagement5+ years experience managing multiple project streams simultaneouslyStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, Teams)2+ years experience using Atlassian JIRA in a project environmentPrior experience working within public health authorities or large surgical programs#J-18808-Ljbffr
