Job Responsibilities :
POSITION SUMMARY :
The Assistant Mechanical Supervisor acts as a liaison between engineering and the workshop; and leads a team of Electricians to wire and integrate tooling and associated equipment into robotic assembly lines. The Assistant Electrical Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring that the assembly line is bought-off electrically and shipped to our customers facilities as per the program timeline.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- Recognized Certificate of Qualification as an Electrician
- 5 to 10 years experience in automotive tooling

Prepare work and set up personnel for start up of each shiftPrioritize workload schedules to meet job deadlinesIdentify and troubleshoot problems on new or existing equipment and follow up with engineering on any updates or changesCommunicate and inform Electrical Supervisor and Team Members of any changes in job information, deadlines and maintenance requirements for equipment and plantAssign and inspect the work of electricians / apprentices / electrical helper and initiate correctivemeasures to meet standards.Report any concerns and work-related matters to Electrical Supervisor and / or other department SupervisorsDetermine material and labour estimatesMaintain and update the skills and training matrix.Maintain positive contribution towards customer satisfaction, quality and Company profitabilityEvaluate Team Members in order to recommend individuals for wage increasesSupervise activities of Electrical Department providing instruction and guidanceMaintain time sheets and attendance recordsBe a responsible member of the Management TeamOpen and lock up plant as requiredEnsure all safety hazards, defective equipment or unsafe situations are addressed immediatelyContain, report and have safety hazards fixed by qualified people immediatelyKnow how to perform your Team's assigned tasks in a safe mannerKnow how to properly lockout all energy sources, including stored energy, in your areaInstruct and monitor your Team to ensure they are following the safety rules, standards and procedures at all timesKnow what type of Personal Protective Equipment is required for the jobs in your area and ensure that your Team uses Personal Protective Equipment properlyEnsure work areas are kept clean, promote and practice good housekeeping along with all fellow Team MembersMotivate and encourage positive, two-way friendly attitudes at all timesTreat all Team Members equally, fairly, with dignity and respectPromote open, honest communication amongst one anotherPromote the "Open Door" EnvironmentUnderstand, promote and work by Magna's Philosophies, Corporate Constitution and Employee CharterSupervise Team Members in accordance with the principles of the Employee Charter and the policies and procedures set out in the Massiv Automated Systems' Employee HandbookSet a positive example for the Team at all timesEnsure consistent application of all plant rules, policies and proceduresWith Supervisor's involvement apply progressive discipline in a fair and consistent manner without favouritism and ensure it is conducted privately / away from others to maintain confidentiality and employee self-esteemMaintain Team Member confidentialityEnsure regular communication, employee development, teamwork, and quality work through team meetings (both on and off site) and forward meeting minutes to Plant ManagerAchieve the continuous improvement benchmark of 80% or higher on each category and no less than 50% on any individual question on the Employee Opinion SurveyComplete annual performance appraisals and return to Human Resources by the scheduled deadlineProvide each Team Member with performance feedback on a regular basis and involve your Supervisor as neededAttend whiteboard meetings for job they are assigned toMaintain MAFACT matrix and meet other MAFACT requirements for the department.Encourage Team Members to discuss their questions, concerns and suggestions in a positive mannerUpdate skills and training matrixHold toolbox meetingEnsure consignment material are in good conditionEnsure electrical build standards are followed and updatedMaintain basic electrical material stockKeep track of electrical tool sign outMake sure all redline markups are transferred to a PDF file and placed in a job folderEnsure ISO Quality Workmanship through continuous improvement and trainingEnsure ISO Standard Operating Procedures are followedReport Quality issues or concerns immediately and take appropriate corrective actionsPromote, participate in and support Continuous ImprovementsPerform other related duties as requiredAwareness, Unity, Empowerment :
