Client is a custom millwork and manufacturing firm specializing in commercial projects that has been operating in the Toronto area for over 20 years. We are AWMAC and LEED Certified and produce millwork in over 1600 construction projects internationally, 1000 of which in the greater Toronto area alone. Create a variety of high-end custom millwork, casework, architectural woodwork, surface cladding and themed spaces for restaurants, hotels, casinos, entertainment facilities, condominiums, malls and many other public spaces.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Responsible for procuring materials and supplies needed for our millwork. production, ensuring the best balance of quality, cost, and efficiency.
- Professional with strong negotiating skills, industry experience, and the ability to foster positive relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Solid understanding of the millwork industry and demonstrate a proven track record of successful purchasing strategies.
- Develop, implement, and maintain purchasing strategies to ensure a steady supply of materials while optimizing cost-efficiency.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable prices, timely deliveries, and quality standards.
- Work closely with production and project management teams to understand material needs and sourcing requirements.
- Manage vendor relationships to foster trust and encourage long-term partnerships.
- Oversee inventory management to maintain an optimal balance of stock, coordinating with the warehouse team to track incoming materials.
- Conduct regular analysis of procurement metrics, cost savings, and vendor performance.
- Identify and resolve potential supply chain disruptions to avoid delays in production.
QUALIFICATIONS :
3-5 years of purchasing experience, ideally within the millwork or interior design industry.Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to secure the best terms while maintaining positive supplier relationships.Effective communicator, both spoken and written, able to articulate needs, ideas, and solutions clearly.Personable, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team and maintain professional relationships with vendors and suppliers.Experience with ERP systems is an asset. Experience with the Innergy platform ideal.A degree or diploma in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
