In accordance with the established vision and values of Northern Health, the Dispensary Pharmacist provides distribution pharmacy services by performing duties such as interpreting medication orders / prescriptions, assessing prescriptions for therapeutic suitability, and ensuring that medications are efficiently and accurately dispensed and / or compounded and labelled and that dispensing records are complete. Communicates with physicians, patients, and / or other health care team members for prescription clarification and problem resolution. Participates in the collection of data for medication use evaluation projects, implementation of dispensary-based medication safety initiatives, quality control activities, contributes to internal publications and participates in clinical drug trials in accordance with established standards and procedures.
Additionally, the pharmacist will work collaboratively with members of the healthcare team to identify and resolve drug therapy problems and achieve patient care outcomes.
Shift Rotation / Hours of work : Monday to Friday / Days - 07 : 00 to 15 : 00, 08 : 00 to 16 : 00
Dawson Creek & District Hospital is a 50-bed hospital that offers full service that includes inpatient care, emergency, respiratory, rehab, surgery, obstetrics & gynecology lab, medical imaging and cancer care. The hospital is the northeastern BC orthopedic and trauma centre. Visiting specialists in urology, dermatology and pediatrics is also available.

Current license of the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.Active membership in the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists is encouraged.At least one year of related work in a hospital pharmacy, desirable.Skills and Abilities :
