Job Description

Providing psychotherapy to individuals in an outpatient mental health setting.

  • Comprehensive integrated assessment and treatment that employs evidence-based approaches for clients with significant symptoms of mood and other mental health disorders
  • Comprehensive solution focused interventions within a group based setting using standardized group session content and metric based measurements completed pre and post group involvement.
  • Provides communication back to the referring primary care physician as part of a shared care model.
  • Facilitates evidence based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; Interpersonal psychotherapy, Dialectic Behavioural Therapy and Mindfulness based groups.

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Social Work required
  • A member in good standing with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW)
  • Minimum of 5 years experience providing evidence based psychotherapy
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate psychotherapy groups
  • Experience in Solution Focused Therapy
  • Demonstrated Cognitive Behavior Therapy training and skills
  • Demonstrated Mindfulness training and skills
  • Demonstrated Dialectic Behavioural Therapy informed practice training and skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of Trauma Informed Practice
  • Demonstrated skills engaging families
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Familiarity with community resources and relevant consent and capacity legislation.
  • Demonstrated ability to function independently
  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively as a member of a collaborative health team
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record.
  • Additional Information

    Hours :  Monday-Friday 8 : 30 - 16 : 30 (4 days); 11 : 00 - 19 : 00 (1 day) (Hours subject to change based on operational needs)
