The National Diabetes Trust is Canada’s largest charitable clothing and small household good collection service. With more than 5,000 donation bins and an active home‑pick‑up service in communities across Canada (excluding Quebec), we collect unwanted gently used clothing and household items to raise much‑needed funds for Diabetes Canada.
Each year, the program diverts more than 100 million pounds of clothing and household items from landfill sites across Canada.

About the Charitable Donations Pickup Driver Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this critical role will work a 40‑hour work week, driving established routes to collect donated clothing and household items from our valued customers’ homes and our designated charity donation bins – and deliver these items to our corporate partners and storage facilities.
Highlights of the Role Include
Understand and promote the mission of the National Diabetes Trust to the general machine and to all volunteersHave a thorough knowledge of the organization’s goals, objectives, services, programs and structure at all levelsAlways operate vehicles in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and in a safe and responsible mannerConduct pre‑ and post‑trip inspectionsComplete and submit the appropriate paperwork dailyComplete and submit Hours‑of‑Service logs and associated paperwork dailyAlways carry proof of valid driver’s licence, valid plate permit registration, a copy of the Commercial Vehicle Operator Registration / National Safety Code Registration documentation and the associated vehicle inspection and Hours of Service documentationCheck in with dispatch at beginning, mid‑day, and end of scheduled routeProvide an appropriate message card to each donorComplete and properly log all assigned pick‑upsUnload merchandise as instructedReturn all equipment to the office at the end of each dayReport route discrepancies with dispatchEnsure that only authorized personnel ride inside the truckParticipate in all required driving‑related NDT education, initiatives, directives, and proceduresAdditional duties as required to ensure the effective functioning of OperationsAbout You
