About Our Client:
A leading construction and hospitality group in Ontario is seeking a strategic and experienced Accounting Manager to join their finance team. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Accounting Manager will play a key role in the financial management of multiple divisions, including Hospitality, Residential Rental, and Construction. The position will provide guidance to a small team of finance professionals and leverage financial insights to support the Executive Team in making informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, manage, and control all financial activities, systems, and controls to ensure accurate, timely reporting in compliance with ASPE and other regulatory standards.
- Analyze and interpret financial results to advise the Executive Team on business performance and financial strategies.
- Collaborate with the CFO on business planning processes, including job costing, annual operating plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Provide financial oversight to divisions to protect company assets and ensure adherence to corporate financial policies.
- Design and implement measurement systems to improve margins, forecasting, working capital, and operational performance.
- Oversee treasury management and compliance with divisional covenants.
- Establish and monitor key operating ratios, continually assessing and improving financial performance.
- Support divisional finance teams in automating and streamlining financial processes.
- Lead and manage the annual audit process with third-party auditors.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Highly motivated, results‑driven, with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Leadership and supervisory experience managing accounting teams and procedures.
- Proficiency with accounting software (NetSuite preferred) and other relevant tools.
- Experience in construction accounting is an asset.
- Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation abilities.
- Proven track record of analyzing financial information and improving business performance.
Qualifications:
- Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) with relevant industry experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- Demonstrated success in leadership roles, guiding teams to achieve financial goals.
