You must check out the Rocky / Nordegg Trail and the West Country for a majestic mountain experience without the congestion of the national parks.As a Physiotherapist I in this community role, your time will be spent in mixed service streams that include Acute Care and Outpatients. You will be expected to communicate and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team regarding your clients in the various service areas. In this role, you will be supported by the Allied Health Area Manager and Physiotherapy Professional Practice Lead with opportunities to connect with professionals in surrounding areas. You will provide clinical direction to a Therapy Assistant and may, on occasion, be offered the opportunity to provide clinical placements for Physiotherapy or Therapy Assistant students.

Description :

As the Physiotherapist I (PT), you will provide therapeutic interventions to enable clients to achieve optimum physical function and independence in development, disease, disability, chronic conditions, illness and functional decline. You will provide intervention ( prevention, triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, management, education, consultation, fostering resourcefulness, case management, referral and transition support to individuals, groups, populations and communities. You will include clients and families as integral members of the health care team, encouraging their active participation in all aspects of care. The PT collaborates with patient(s) and families in determining, implementing and evaluating appropriate rehabilitation strategies. You will participate in a variety of interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich supports and engage in quality improvement; partnering with healthcare providers, patients, families and other stakeholders to advance services for their clients. You will contribute to quality improvement and their professional community; participates in peer mentoring; and supervises students. You may provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides and Provisional Physiotherapists.

Required Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.

Additional Required Qualifications :

Eligibility for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association required.

Preferred Qualifications :

Current AADL Authorizer preferred.
