The Life of a Groundskeeper

  • Responsible for maintaining the appearance and health of the plants, trees, flowers and lawns.
  • Participate in pruning, mowing, trimming, planting, shoveling, watering, pressure washing, fertilizing, digging, raking, weeding, sod laying, and tidying gardens and grounds
  • Assist in the set up and take down for winery events / concert series
  • Pruning, thinning and harvest of fruit orchard
  • Maintain the gardens of winery residences
  • Participate in the upkeep and repair of turf, sidewalks, parking lots, equipment, fountains, fences, planters, beds, benches, grounds equipment, etc.
  • Perform other manual duties to clean and maintain landscaped environment and the grounds in general

What We’re Looking For :

  • Previous experience or passion in horticulture or landscaping
  • Ability to use hand and mechanical tools
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Physically fit and capable of bending as well as lifting and carrying up to 22.7 kg (50 lbs)
  • Working outdoors, sometimes in severe weather conditions is required
  • Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Flexible availability, some weekends required
  • You thrive in ambiguity and are comfortable with change
  • You put trust in others and never let anyone down
  • You listen, take feedback, respond quickly, and take initiative with a sense of urgency
  • You are authentic, diplomatic, thoughtful, and always have the best intentions
  • Bonus Points :

  • Certificate in horticulture considered an asset
  • Chemical applicators certification considered an asset
