As an intern at HUB youll be part of our collaborative culture where your contributions matter and your growth is supported. This internship is specifically designed to give you exposure to the many career opportunities within the fast-growing insurance brokerage industry.

Youll gain hands-on experience working alongside our Commercial Lines Personal Lines Employee Benefits or Retirement & Private Wealth teams learning the ins and outs of our business while exploring areas like client service sales and more.

Throughout the program youll learn directly from industry experts across risk insurance employee benefits retirement and wealth management; building both your professional skills and the foundation for a successful future career.

Full-time paid May to August (17-week) internship working out of our Downtown Vancouver Office.

Professional Development : Participate in workshops seminars and networking events designed to enhance your communication problem-solving and leadership skills.

Mentorship : Receive personalized guidance from mentors who will support your growth answer your questions and help you navigate the insurance industry.

The Opportunity :

As an Analyst Health & Benefits Intern in our Employee Benefits Division you will enhance your understanding of the group benefits industry. You will respond to client inquiries provide analytical support solve problems and tackle new challenges daily all under the mentorship of experienced and dedicated colleagues.

What Youll Do

Gain hands-on experience in managing policies endorsements renewals data management and claims processing.

Contribute to market analysis and research projects providing valuable insights for informed decision-making.

Actively engage in workshops training sessions and seminars to enhance skills and industry knowledge.

Prepare reports and presentations to communicate project updates findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders.

Provide direct day-to-day problem-solving support for clients regarding their group benefits programs.

Support client communication through drafting formal letters reports and participating in virtual and in-person meetings.

Perform data entry to support quarterly and annual financial analysis for a broad range of clients across various industry sectors.

Conduct renewal analysis negotiate fees and rates with carriers in alignment with department strategy.

Review insurance contracts and financial statements.

Support the lead consultant and Analysts in managing projects conducting research and drawing meaningful conclusions from client and market data.

Gain insight and build knowledge of the organization its services people and purpose.

Conduct data review assumption setting and report writing for actuarial valuations (actuarial track only).

Actively manage all assigned accounts and represent HUB and its values in all client interactions including meetings events and presentations.

Handle confidential information and data adhering to HUBs privacy and confidentiality agreement.

What you will bring to the role -

Post-secondary students with an expected graduation date of Fall 2026 or Spring 2027.

A positive attitude and enthusiasm to learn about the insurance industry.

Excellent verbal & written communication skills

Strong organizational skills adept at prioritizing and handling multiple tasks.

A collaborative team player with a desire to help others.

Independent and self-motivated capable of autonomous work

Compensation

The expected hourly rate for this position is $20-21 / hr and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidates skills experience and working location as well as the specific positions business line scope and level.
