GeoVerra is currently seeking a full-time on-site IT Service Desk Student to join our fun and talented Information Technology team. This is an on-site position; the successful candidate must be willing and able to work from our Edmonton, AB, office daily. Reporting to the IT Systems Specialist Lead, the GeoVerra IT Service Desk Student will spend their day remotely coordinating, diagnosing, and troubleshooting incoming tickets. The IT Service Desk Student will assist with onboarding and offboarding tasks. They will be the first point of contact for all IT service onsite requests in the Edmonton Office. Requests vary from issues involving PC hardware, mobility, software, or network services, and from local personnel or employees using remote network access. What you will do : Diagnose and troubleshoot end-user desktop application issues and provide solutions. Provide timely resolution of problems or escalations. Provide support for PCs, laptops, printers, cell phones, and tablets, etc. Assist with maintaining inventory management. Communicate with customers at all levels of technical and non-technical skills sets. To assist with the development of internal knowledge base articles for the service desk team. Create and escalate tickets to appropriate parties. What you will bring : Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program related to Information Technology (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields). IT Service Desk experience is considered an asset. Exceptional customer service skills, enthusiasm and an understanding of IT operations and processes. Strong written and verbal English communication skills to interact with leadership, team members, and staff. Working knowledge of Windows 10 / 11 operating systems and basic network configurations is preferred. Working knowledge of Apple iOS and iPadOS operating systems. Ability to build and troubleshoot PC hardware. Ability to lift up to 30lbs of IT equipment. Solid analytical / cognitive skills to troubleshoot complex and technical problems. Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and quality. Demonstrated capability to achieve results under pressure.
