Job Summary : The Engineering Outreach Manager providesstrategic guidance, program development and long-term program management of allengineering outreach programs.
Nature of work : Reporting tothe Associate Dean, Experiential Learning and Engineering Outreach in theFaculty of Engineering and Applied Science (FEAS), the Engineering Outreach Manager provides oversight on the successfuldevelopment, delivery and assessment of all engineering outreach programs.
This position will collaborate with internaland external stakeholders to secure required funding for program delivery andsupervise outreach personnel on day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities / accountabilities :
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of all engineering outreach programs.
- Develop fund proposals under the direction of the Associate Dean to secure funding for new, continuing, and expansion of outreach programs.
- Provides leadership and support to ensure effective donor relations and stewardship activities.
- Work with internal stakeholders on all reporting requirements of outreach activities as per funding agreements.
- Represent the Engineering Outreach unit (FEAS) in outreach partnership committees and memberships.
- Lead Engineering Outreach personnel in developing and delivering programming for elementary and secondary school students and teachers.
- Maintain a high level of performance within the Engineering Outreach unit through effective hiring and supervision of staff.
- Coordinate outreach activities as they pertain to undergraduate recruitment.
- Develop a clear communication plan and materials to promote outreach programs and activities.
- Work with the Faculty Budget Officer on managing the overall Engineering Outreach budget, tracking special accounts for reporting purposes and procurement of all capital needs.
- Lead and support other special projects related to engineering outreach and FEAS.

- Has experience in supervising staff with excellent communication, organizational and relationship building skills
- Demonstrated ability to interact at all levels within the organization and effectively manage strategic goals.
- Excellent coaching skills to guide and motivate team engagement and development
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships both inside and outside of the organization
- Well-developed written communication and interpersonal skills, diplomacy and tact, with a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Required Education :
- Must have a four year Bachelor'sDegree in Engineering
- An equivalent combination of education and relatedexperience may be considered.
- Verification of Academic credentials may be required
Required Experience :
- A minimum of three to five years of related experience in engineering outreach and / or management.
- Previous experience in fundraising including grant writing and submissions which resulted in successfully securing funds.
- Experience in stewardship of donated funds.
- Demonstrated success in personnel supervision within a postsecondary environment
- An equivalent combination of education and relatedexperience may be considered.
