HIS 4397 : Seminar in European History.
Race and Racism in Modern Europe
This course examines the development of racism in theory and practice, as well as the experience of racialized people, in modern Europe. Topics to be covered may include : slavery and abolition; scientific racism; theories of imperialism; antisemitism and the Holocaust; decolonization and anti-racism; and contemporary debates around immigration.
