Job Description : Corporate Services Paralegal / Senior LAA

Our client is a fullservice result driven BC law firm centrally located in the Greater Vancouver area and well situated to meet the needs of a diverse range of businesses individuals and institutional clients. They are currently seeking a fulltime Corporate Services Paralegal with a minimum of 710 years of experience as a paralegal or an LAA with a senior skill set to join their firm.
About the role : Duties include
- Preparation of documents in relation to corporate law including incorporation and organization of BC and Federal Companies corporate and tax reorganization amalgamations share and asset purchases including due diligence share structure and article alterations share allotments and transfers dissolutions and restorations name changes redemptions / repurchases and dividends (capital / eligible / regular)
- Working with Proprietorships Partnerships Limited Partnerships and Societies
- Reviewing summarizing and analyzing corporate records and rectifying deficiencies
- Maintenance of ALF including inputting changes / updates
- Maintenance of BF system
- Responding to client and auditor / accountant inquiries in a timely manner
- Updating and filing virtual minute books for all companies including scanning and document splitting
- Administering clients’ files including file opening (conflict searches client identifications and other tasks) billing and file closing
- Completing any other administrative duties as requested / required
About you :
A Paralegal Certification from an accredited postsecondary institutionA minimum of 2 years of working experience as a corporate paralegal or a minimum of 4 years as LAA in a similar role with comparable responsibilities in a corporate services departmentExtensive experience with transactional workAbility to prepare complex reorganizationsKnowledge of legal technical procedures statutes regulations and governmental practices applicable to the corporate area is mandatoryProficient with MS Word and OutlookKnowledge of ALF is beneficialStrong organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skillsA clientcentered approach with the commitment to providing outstanding serviceAbility to handle a high volume of work in a fastpaced environmentAbility to follow instructions and adhere to strict deadlinesAbility to exercise sound judgement discretion and confidentiality and to adapt to changing demandsAbility to work independently and in a team environmentPosition Offering :
