Veterinary Technologist Assistant

Location : Victoria, BC

Department : Medical Oncology

Central Victoria Veterinary Hospital welcomes a dependable and caring Veterinary Technologist Assistant to join our medical oncology team full-time.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an organized, motivated, and empathetic individual to join us in an important support role for the entire hospital.

The ideal candidate will have veterinary and / or administrative experience. A veterinary assistant certificate would be an asset.

Your primary responsibility will be to assist our medical oncologist and RVT with various tasks and treatments including patient handling, chemotherapy administration, client communication and scheduling consultations and procedures.

Schedule : Monday -Thursday. Shifts are 10 hours in length.

Key responsibilities :

Assist veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments

Create a warm and welcoming environment for our patient and pet parents

Create a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients and adapt to changing situations

Take initiative and work independently

General housekeeping duties; cleanliness of work area, pet holding areas and common areas

Willingness to learn more regarding; veterinary services, updated medical office procedures and assisting the Veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments

Veterinary Assistant (VA) or Veterinary Office Assistant (VOA) program certificate is an asset

Compensation : $ to $ per hour. The hourly rate range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.
